Hi there fans! As you may have noticed, I have given my blog a new look. In fact, it’s much more than that! I’ve moved from WordPress.com to the self-hosted version (if you don’t know what that means, don’t worry). My last site was great, but in my pursuit of fame, it just didn’t have some of the features I needed. For instance, I will now be able to setup my online store! (Not ready yet though).
Some of my more long-term fans may have noticed that I recently decreased my posting from 2 posts to 1 post per week. Well, that was because I was secretly working on this!
I’ve launched this site today because it marks the approximate 1 Year Date since I first started the blog. It’s not very often that I reveal this much about my plans or get this mushy (so enjoy it while it lasts), but I have to give a big, warm thanks to all my fans and their support. I wouldn’t be moving to this new site today if it wasn’t for their love and ‘demand for more’!
Since I started my blog a year ago, the response I got was incredible. I usually keep the statistics of my fame private, but here is my monthly growth over the past year with the actual numbers removed..
Up, up and away!
Now, it’s important to note that I don’t really feel anymore famous now than when I first started. Actually, that’s kind of why I started the blog – because I was already a celebrity to begin with.
Although, I can say my responsibilities have changed. I have a lot more people (and doggies!) looking up to me now, so I have to be a role model to them. That’s why I’m always sharing my expert advice on partying, picking up chicks, and living the celebrity lifestyle – as these are all very important life skills.
Anyway, I have even more news than just my new site!
A lot of people have been asking me for a Crusoe calendar. I’m thinking I will take it a step further and make a nice Coffee Table Photo Book – a collection of my best photos and captions. A calendar is nice, but after a year what will you do with it? A photo book will be a more lasting keepsake.
I’ll let everyone know when it’s ready and for sale in my Store!
And wait – that’s still not all!
To kick off my new photo book, and also to do something fun for ‘Halloween’, I’ll be launching a new Photo Contest shortly, where the winner will receive the first official, pawtographed version of my Photo Book! (Plus some other goodies of course). I haven’t set an actual start date yet, but here’s a quick synopsis of how to prepare for it.
The photo contest will be the ‘SuperDog Photo Contest‘, where myself, AKA BATDOG, is looking for a new sidekick. So you need to think of a good story as to why your dog should be BATDOG’s sidekick, and also get a photo of it! It could be your Halloween costume, or you might not even need a ‘costume’ (hint: I don’t like the term ‘costume’ for superhero outfits). Even a really heroic pose with a good reasoning as to why they should be my sidekick might just do the trick!
Something to think about over the next week or two..
So there you go. I just revealed a whole lot about my short-term plans (I don’t think you can handle the long-term plans just yet).
And then of course, there’s my vacation to the Bahamas at the end of November. It’s going to be a busy couple months!
